चमोली जिले के कोलपुड़ी गांव निवासी शहीद जवान नारायण सिंह का आज उनके पैतृक घाट पर पूरे सैन्य सम्मान के साथ अंतिम संस्कार किया गया। शहीद नारायण सिंह को उनके भतीजे जयवीर सिंह व सुजान सिंह ने मुखाग्नि दी।

बता दें कि चमोली जिले के थराली ब्लॉक स्थित कोलपुड़ी गांव निवासी नारायण सिंह भारतीय सेना में सिपाही के पद पर तैनात थे। 07 फरवरी 1968 को भारतीय वायु सेना के विमान से नारायण सिंह 102 अन्य जवानों के साथ चंडीगढ़ से लेह जा रहे थे। इस दौरान रोहतांग दर्रे के पास वायु सेना का विमान दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया था। विमान में सवार सभी 102 जवान शहीद हो गए थे। जिनकी तलाश के लिए सेना काफी लंबे समय से सर्च ऑपरेशन चला रही है।

इससे पहले वर्ष 2003 में भी पांच जवानों के पार्थिव शरीर मिले थे। साल 2018 में भी एक जवान का पार्थिव शरीर बरामद हुआ था। वहीं, अब 56 साल बाद चार और जवानों के पार्थिव शरीर मिले। जिसमें शहीद नारायण सिंह का पार्थिव शरीर बुधवार को हेलीकॉप्टर से गौचर लाया गया। आज शहीद के पार्थिव शरीर को उनके पैतृक गांव कोलपुड़ी लाकर उनके परिजनों को सौंपा गया। उसके बाद पूरे सैन्य सम्मान के साथ उनके पैतृक घाट पर शहीद का अंतिम संस्कार किया गया। इस दौरान थराली विधायक भूपाल राम टम्टा, उप जिलाधिकारी अबरार अहमद सहित सैकड़ों क्षेत्रीय ग्रामीण मौजूद थे।
