एम्स ऋषिकेश में आयोजित ’पीडियाट्रिक सर्जरी डे’ के अवसर पर जनजागरूकता के कई कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए। इस वर्ष बच्चों में मूत्र संबन्धी समस्याओं के लिए बाल शल्य चिकित्सक की भूमिका विषय पर थीम आयोजित की गयी थी। पीडियाट्रिक सर्जन विशेषज्ञों द्वारा रोगी और उनके तीमारदारों को इस मामले में विभिन्न लाभकारी जानकारियां दी गयीं।

संस्थान की कार्यकारी निदेशक प्रो. मीनू सिंह के मार्गदर्शन में आयोजित जनजागरूकता कार्यक्रम के दौरान पीडियाट्रिक सर्जरी विभाग के विशेषज्ञ चिकित्सकों ने बच्चों में जन्मजात बीमारियों और सर्जरी द्वारा उनका इलाज करने के बारे में विस्तार पूर्वक बताया।

विभाग की हेड और चिकित्सा अधीक्षक प्रो. सत्या श्री ने बाल रोगियों के तीमारदारों को बताया कि प्रत्येक मां-बाप को अपने बच्चों के स्वास्थ्य के प्रति संवेदनशील रहकर बीमारियों के लक्षणों के प्रति जागरूक रहना होगा। उन्होंने बच्चों की जन्मजात बीमारियों के बावत तीमारदारों द्वारा पूछे गए सवालों का जबाव देकर उन्हें जागरूक किया। कहा कि जब बच्चा मां के गर्भ में पल रहा होता है तो उस समय सटीक और उच्च स्तर की सोनोग्राफी की अहमियत समझायी। ताकि गर्भ में पल रहे बच्चे में पनपने वाली जन्मजात बीमारी का समय रहते पता चल सके।

प्रो. सत्या श्री ने यह भी बताया कि यदि छोटे बच्चों में किसी कारण वश कैंसर के लक्षण हों तो इससे घबराने की जरूरत नहीं है। समय रहते सही इलाज करने से उसे जड़ से खत्म किया जा सकता है।

कार्यक्रम के दौरान बच्चों में होने वाली सामान्य सर्जिकल बीमारियां जैसे बच्चे का बार-बार पेशाब करना, रात के समय सोते वक्त बिस्तर गीला करना, बच्चों की जन्मजात अंडकोषों की समस्याएं, उनमें मूत्र मार्ग और लिंग संबन्धी जन्मजात बीमारियां, हर्निया, हाइड्रोसिल, पेशाब में रूकावट होने, पेशाब में संक्रमण और जलन होने आदि के लक्षणों, सावधानियां बरतने और समय रहते आवश्यक उपचार करने के बारे में बाल सर्जन विशेषज्ञ चिकित्सकों द्वारा कई लाभप्रद जानकारियां दी गयीं। कार्यक्रम के दौरान बताया गया कि उत्तराखण्ड में बच्चों में गुर्दे एवं लीवर के कैंसर बनने के मामले ज्यादा पाए गए हैं। इसलिए इनके प्रति विशेष जागरूक रहने की जरूरत है। बताया कि इसके अलावा छोटे बच्चों द्वारा टाॅफी, नमकीन, मूंगफली अथवा अन्य भोज्य पदार्थ के कणों को अनजाने में निगलने की कोशिश करते वक्त वह उनकी सांस की नली में फंस जाते हैं। उन्होंने इससे उत्पन्न समस्या के निदान और ऐसे मामलों में विशेष जागरुक रहने के लिए भी प्रेरित किया गया।

उल्लेखनीय है कि प्रति वर्ष 29 दिसम्बर को पीडियाट्रिक सर्जरी डे मनाया जाता है। इस दिन बच्चों की जन्मजात बीमारियों और सर्जरी के माध्यम से उनके निदान के प्रति लोगों को जागरुक किया जाता है। कार्यक्रम के दौरान पीडियाट्रिक सर्जरी विभाग की डाॅ. इनोनो योशू, डाॅ. बिजय कुमार, डाॅ. शौर्या, डॉ दीपक, डाॅ. हिमांशु, डाॅ. जगदीश, डाॅ. प्रशांन्त, डाॅ. सौम्या, डाॅ. रोहन, डाॅ. योगेेश और डाॅ. पन्ना सहित कई अन्य मौजूद रहे।
