देश के इतिहास में पहली बार उत्तराखंड पुलिस के निर्देशन में एक साथ 17 राज्यों दिल्ली, उत्तर प्रदेश, मध्यप्रदेश, राजस्थान, गुजरात, पंजाब, हरियाणा, हिमाचल प्रदेश, कर्नाटक, तमिलनाडु, तेलंगाना, आंध्रप्रदेश, महाराष्ट्र, पश्चिम बंगाल, केरल, गोवा आदि में बड़ी छापेमारी की गई। इस सघन और रणनीतिक कार्रवाई में 290 से अधिक साइबर अपराधियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की गई।
यह कोई सामान्य पुलिसिया कार्रवाई नहीं थी। यह उस दूरदर्शिता और साहसिक निर्णय का परिणाम है, जिसकी नींव मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने साइबर हमले की एक बड़ी घटना के बाद रखी थी।
कुछ माह पूर्व उत्तराखंड साइबर हमलों का शिकार बना था, तब मुख्यमंत्री धामी ने स्पष्ट संदेश दिया था साइबर अपराधी अब सुरक्षित नहीं रहेंगे। उन्होंने पुलिस महकमे को टेक्नोलॉजिकल रूप से सशक्त करने के आदेश दिए, साइबर थानों की पुनर्रचना की और इंटेलिजेंस नेटवर्क को विस्तार दिया।
इसका प्रत्यक्ष परिणाम ‘ऑपरेशन प्रहार’ के रूप में सामने आया, जिसमें न केवल उत्तराखंड बल्कि अन्य राज्यों की पुलिस और केंद्रीय एजेंसियों के सहयोग से यह दिखाया गया कि उत्तराखंड अब केवल पर्यटन और तीर्थाटन का केन्द्र ही नहीं, बल्कि साइबर क्राइम से लड़ने में भी एक मॉडल स्टेट बन चुका है।
