इस दौरान कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं ने पूर्व सीएम हरीश रावत एवं उनके पुत्र वीरेंद्र रावत का माल्यार्पण कर जोरदार स्वागत किया। वहीं पूर्व सीएम हरीश रावत ने एक सवाल के जवाब में कहा कि कांग्रेस पार्टी का सीधा मुद्दा जनता से जुड़े सवालों का है। यह चुनाव जनता की सेवा और विकास के लिए होना है। उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तराखंड में सबसे बड़ा सवाल बेरोजगारी, महंगाई का है। इसके साथ उत्तराखंड में कानून व्यवस्था में काफी गिरावट आई है। महिलाओं का सम्मान सुरक्षित नहीं है। दलित कमजोर, पिछड़ा एवं अल्पसंख्यक वर्ग स्वयं को हतोत्साहित महसूस कर रहा है। उन्होंने सूबे के मुख्यमंत्री पर सवाल खड़ा करते हुए कहा कि जिस सरकार में मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय में डग्गा एप बनाने की जरूरत पड़ रही है। उस सरकार में राज्य का विकास कैसे हो सकता है। कहा कि कांग्रेस पार्टी ने आज राज्य के लिए अपना मेनिफेस्टो तैयार किया है, जिसमें जनहित से जुड़े मुद्दे शामिल हैं। कहा कि जनता का मन इस सरकार से उठता जा रहा है और जनता परिवर्तन मांग रही है। इसके साथ उन्होंने नानकमत्ता की घटना निंदनीय बताया। ऐसी घटनाएं राज्य के अंदर ध्वस्त होती शासन व्यवस्था का परिणाम है। वही हरिद्वार सीट से लोकसभा प्रत्याशी वीरेंद्र रावत ने कहा कि जनहित में उनके द्वारा तैयार किया घोषणा पत्र उनके लिए गीता और कुरान की तरह है। इस दौरान उन्होंने अगले 05 वर्ष वह लोकसभा संसदीय क्षेत्र की आवाज को बुलंद करने और क्षेत्र की समस्याओं के लिए लड़ने का आश्वासन भी दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि आईडीपीएल के स्थानीय निवासियों की समस्याओं के लिए उनके पिताजी हरीश रावत एवं कांग्रेस जनों बहुत संघर्ष किया है। वर्तमान सरकार की नजर आईडीपीएल की भूमि पर है, आज सरकार आईडीपीएल के स्थानीय निवासियों को निकालने का काम कर रही है। कहा कि वह उनके साथ हमेशा न्याय दिलाने के लिए खड़े रहेंगे। उन्होंने अन्य पार्टियों के प्रत्याशियों पर तंज कसते हुए कहा कि नए स्टूडेंट गाइड से पढ़ कर पास होना चाहते हैं।
